With limited budgets, communities must prioritize options for addressing flood hazards and the costs of those options. Coastal green infrastructure is a strategy for reducing impacts from storm surge, sea level rise, and precipitation and includes approaches across different scales.

New Jersey led the nation in developing isolated, single use office parks, today, New Jersey is experiencing an exodus of corporate employers, leaving behind large underutilized office buildings and retail centers and the land on which they sit. New Jersey’s failure to plan for and provide housing at the right price is encouraging outmigration and affecting the economy. The panel will discuss the ramifications of such shortfalls, the need to move forward with planning for affordable housing, and the benefits to neighborhood stability and investment when affordable housing is made available. New Jersey cannot afford to wait for the court’s decision, we must begin to plan for and provide a variety of housing choices for all New Jerseyans, including the middle class.

Transportation needs always exceed funding. At the same time, transportation projects are expected to do more than ever -- move cars, trucks, transit, bikes and pedestrians safely and efficiently. Transportation for America works with transportation agencies to find ways to make money go farther and to identify ways to make better move all users of the system safely.

The annual New Jersey Land Conservation Rally is one of the nation’s largest statewide conservation training events. The event is a daylong educational experience offering workshops, plenary sessions, and networking opportunities. 350 conservationists attended in 2016. All workshops are at least 75 minutes long and multiple sessions run concurrently.

Not only is it our most reliable form of transportation, it's good for our collective health, has little impact on the environment, and is practically free.
