Duke Farms Walking Tour

The walking tour will begin in the Farm Barn Orientation Center (2^nd Floor Conference Room) with an overview presentation of Duke Farms. First, we will view the recently renovated, historic Farm Barn, which received LEED Platinum certification in 2013. After viewing the Farm Barn, the group will walk to various other structures on the property and include such sustainability highlights as bio-swales in the surface parking lots, geothermal wells, constructed wetlands restored natural wetlands.

The program will begin promptly at 10am and last for approximately 2 hours. The tour includes walking, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring reusable water bottles to stay hydrated. Insect spray of your choice is recommended. Refreshments and light fare will be served after the tour.

At the conclusion of the guided tour, visitors are invited to explore Duke Farms on their own, which includes the ruins of the uncompleted mansion and several beautiful man-made lakes. Hiking trails, tram and rental bicycles are available.
