BOCEP: Affordable Housing Strategies (CM | 14.0)

Affordable Housing Strategies discusses policy considerations and the political and financial challenges that confront developers of housing for individuals and families earning less than 80% of the area median income (AMI). This immensely challenging field requires familiarity with the capital markets, knowledge of zoning, general real estate transactional concepts, contract and tax law and architecture, just to name a few trades. Affordable housing is increasingly developed by non-profit community development corporations (CDCs), which are often thinly capitalized and operate with limited resources.
