This webinar will inform planners how to effectively communicate the value of our work, leverage discussions with community stakeholders into educational opportunities, and using the media to our advantage. With the advent of social media and mobile journalism, community engagement has risen to a new level, allowing for increased transparency, broader community involvement, and two-way dialogue. We will discuss how to generate interest, disseminate information, and continually stoke dialogue. Principles will be guided from APA’s 2006 report Planners’ Communications Guide: Strategies, Examples, and Tools for Everyday Practice.
