Webinar – Bridging the gap between Community Based Organizations and the Planning Community (CM | 1.5)

In many places Community Based Organizations (CBO) are on the ground running on their own without support and/or coordination with local government. CBO’s are often so focused on the funding necessary to support those vulnerable populations they serve that their interaction with planning at the comprehensive level in consultation with local governments is many times set-aside. While many CBO’s lack the capacity to do community planning, local government lacks capacity to implement and support the efforts necessary to revitalize the area that CBO’s are most interested in serving. Learn from experts on the ground in New Jersey with extensive experience and ideas as to how to utilize each others resources to support the revitalization of areas with socio-economic issues that require the CBO’s hands-on activities with local governments ability to shape the policies necessary to ensure a complete and equit! able effort is eventually realized.
