Join Camden County and Cherry Hill Officials and the American Planning Association, New Jersey Chapter, to celebrate Cooper River Park’s award as a… GREAT PLACE IN NEW JERSEY!
The 346-acre Cooper River Park, spanning five (5) Camden County municipalities – Cherry Hill, Pennsauken, Collingswood, Camden City, and Haddon Township, has been a long-time recreational centerpiece of the region. Since its creation in 1935 the Park has been actively and regularly used for an incredibly wide array of events and activities from the premier Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championship Regatta on its 2,000 meter straight away to charity runs and walks on its 3.7 miles of trails.
To celebrate its GREAT PLACES designation the American Planning Association, New Jersey Chapter, in collaboration with Camden County and Cherry Hill Officials are sponsoring a walking tour highlighting the Park’s history, facilities, importance to the region and $23 million in improvements recently authorized by the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders. The County’s Park Director and representatives from Cairone and Kaupp, who are designing the upcoming Park improvements, will guide the tour.
The Tour will begin at the Balcony of the Camden County Boathouse, Cooper River Park, 7050 North Park Drive, Pennsauken, NJ 08109.
