BOCEP: Housing Market Analysis (CM | 14.0)

January 5, 2011 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Too often, planners and policy professionals have trouble working with developers because they don’t see an issue the same way, or speak the same jargon. This course helps students understand and work with one of the most basic tools of housing development: market analyses. This course explores content, methods, techniques, information sources, and presentation styles. It is designed for land planners, transportation planners, planning commissioners, community and economic development professionals and all others who need market data to make informed land use decisions. At the completion of this course the student will be able to: * Describe why housing market studies are needed, including how they are used by developers and public officials * List the types of market information that should be requested
