August 24, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This free bike tour will highlight planning, development and transportation efforts in the city while exposing participants to the culinary assets offered by Asbury Park.

Recently, the 1.25-mile boardwalk, waterfront area and central business district have experienced rapid redevelopment. In the past few years, over one million people visit the Asbury Park beach annually, the City opened its first new hotel in 50 years, and its second new hotel just two years later. Asbury Park’s meteoric rebirth has been fueled by a growing number of music, arts, entertainment, dining and nightlife and community partnerships between developers, non-profit and community organizations, and residents.

The tour will be led by City Transportation Director Mike Manzella and will include guest speakers covering topics of affordable housing development, workforce development, public art, and tourism development. Starting at Kula Farms and Kula Café on the west side, the tour will move on to visit the City’s public parks, the Central Business District, and ending at the Asbury Park Boardwalk, including historic and cultural icons such as The Stone Pony, Carousel Building and Convention Hall.
