Description

Exercising subject matter expertise to work autonomously to provide professional planning services to the Firm’s public and private clients. This includes, but is not limited: (a) preparing municipal and county master plans; (b) preparing development regulations and redevelopment plans; (c) conducting development studies and reviews; and (d) providing expert testimony before boards agencies, commissions and in court. Leading in business development activities including pursuing and preparing responses to requests for proposals (RFP). Representing HGA by attending interviews, conferences and other promotional events that exhibit or feature the Firm’s services and/or projects. Maintaining relationships with existing clients and cultivating new public and private sector clients. Supervising senior and associate staff and mentoring unlicensed and newly licensed staff. Managing and driving project activities, including supervision of the preparation of documents as well as managing staff hours and project budgets.

Must have a Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field plus five (5) years of relevant experience in any occupation which includes the required experience and skills. Experience must include: 5 years of experience of working with Municipal Land Use Boards as a Board professional or providing testimony before the Boards; 5 years of experience preparing Master Plans and their various elements in accordance with Municipal Land Use Law, using GIS and AutoCad as mapping software; 5 years of experience in preparing redevelopment plans in accordance with the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law (LRHL), using SketchUP, and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; and 5 years of experience preparing Fair Share Plans and their various compliance mechanisms. Requires Practice Planning license for the State of New Jersey and American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification. Must be available to travel to testify/attend Planning Board and Zoning Board meetings throughout New Jersey 1-2 times/wk. Will supervise employees. 5 days/40hrs/wk; $118,851/yr-$180,000/yr.
