Webinar: Planning for the New Normal- Post COVID-19 Planning and Zoning Discussion

This session, presented by APA New York Metro, will explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on planning, zoning and design.  The presenters will attempt to investigate what the “new normal” will look like and how the pandemic will impact future planning and zoning decisions in addition to changing the way we think about public spaces and the ways people interact with one another.

John Steinmetz, FAICP
Senior Managing Community Planner @Barton & Loguidice
John is a Senior Managing Community Planner and zoning specialist with Barton & Loguidice. He was born and raised in Upstate New York and has been practicing for over 25 years. He has spent time working in the public sector for the City of Rochester as well as the private sector as a planning consultant. John is an avid cyclist and has completed three 100-mile rides as part of the Ride for Missing & Exploited Children.

Thaddeus (Ted) Kolankowski, RLA LEED AP
Registered Landscape Architect/Senior Land Use Planner @Barton & Loguidice
Ted is a Registered Landscape Architect and LEED Accredited Professional in the Albany office of Barton & Loguidice D.P.C. He has provided municipal planning and landscape architectural services for communities throughout Upstate NY focused on Capital District, the Hudson River Valley and Mohawk River Valley for the past 33 years.Ted has most recently been assisting municipalities with the implementation of sustainable planning and zoning; trails planning and design; waterfront planning and design; and code compliance.
