Webinar: Planning for an Aging Society: Technologies for Safe Transportation Mobility (CM | 1.5)

An overwhelming majority of older Americans wants to age in place despite speculations for a strong future demand for denser, more walkable residential environments and grey flight, residential movement of older households from suburbs to urban areas, which is postulated based on life course theory. This webcast will present transportation mobility and traffic safety issues we face in an aging society given the residential patterns of older adults. Then existing and new technologies that potentially enhance the mobility and safety of older adults will be presented and discussed along with planning and policy options that can facilitate the implementation of such technologies.
