Webinar: Healthy, Active and Vibrant Communities (CM | 1.5)

February 4, 2011 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

In the last two decades, communities across the nation have come to value bicycle and pedestrian facilities – sidewalks, bike lanes, shared use paths – as significant community assets. Bicycle and pedestrian facilities provide direct benefits to residents and employees, connecting people to local destinations and increasing access to recreational opportunities. These facilities also provide indirect benefits, such as strengthening sense of community, increasing social interaction, improving public health, improving safety, reducing congestion and pollution, and promoting social equity. Creating a bikeable and walkable environment doesn’t happen overnight. It takes vision, timing, collaboration, determination, and community support.

This webcast is sponsored by the Missouri Chapter.
