Bus Tour of the Inner Essex Rail Corridor

The Urban Essex Coalition for Smart Growth was formed in 2013 at the conclusion of the Inner M&E Strategic Corridor Plan for Newark, East Orange and Orange. Three cities, non-profits, businesses and institutions, working together to shape development around five commuter rail stations in urban Essex County, New Jersey.

The vision is a model Smart Growth corridor with mixed-use development, housing choices, vital commercial districts and vibrant public spaces.

Join APA-NJ for a bus/walking tour of various locations throughout the three cities, learn more about the coalition – their recommendations and accomplishments, and discuss whether or not this initiative can be replicated in other places. We’ll end the tour at Hat City Kitchen (459 Valley Street, Orange), for a Happy Hour!
