Paul Gleitz is a principal park planner with the Monmouth County Parks System, with his office located at Thompson Park in Lincroft. He is currently engaged in a broad range of planning activities for the Parks System, including parks and acquisition planning, resource conservation plans, municipal open space grants administration and park system acreditation.
Paul’s carreer includes nine years with a private planning consulting firm preparing master plans and master plan reexamination reports, land use plans, affordable housing and fair share plans, open space and recreation plans, natural resource inventories, redevelopment studies and redevelopment plans, neighborhood revitalization strategies, use variance and site plan review; land development ordinances, and community visioning plans. While at his former firm, Paul was very involved in NJ Highlands regional planning issues and worked with a number of client communities to navigate the Highlands RMP conformance process.
His earlier career included ten years of experience in open space and site conservation planning, natural resource management, database development, and geographic information systems management from his tenure at The Nature Conservancy and in state government. He continues to present classes, workshops, and conference sessions on affordable housing, planning practice, open space planning, natural resource management, state planning, and geographic information systems.
He resides in Manasquan and was recently married in October.
Paul received a Masters of City and Regional Planning from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy (with a concentration in land use, conservation, and GIS) at Rutgers University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management (Forestry) from Cook College, Rutgers University.
