Mission Statement
APA New Jersey empowers planners and communities by advocating for excellence in planning, fostering citizen engagement, and providing the tools and resources needed to navigate growth and change. Through education, advocacy, and philanthropy, we advance the art and science of planning to build more sustainable, equitable, and vibrant communities.
Activities & Programs
APA New Jersey is a nonprofit professional association dedicated to advancing the practice of planning across the state. Throughout the year, the Chapter hosts a wide range of events and programs, including webinars, walking tours, exam prep courses, an annual awards program, and a statewide planning conference that draws more than 1,000 attendees.
Through its Legislative Committee, APA New Jersey reviews proposed legislation and works with sponsors to incorporate policy language that supports comprehensive planning and sound land use outcomes.
Members also actively participate in philanthropic initiatives such as the Community Planning Assistance Program and City Planning in Schools, delivered in partnership with the Center for Community Planning.
