NJ Urbanthinker
Cranford, New Jersey
NJ UrbanThinker is seeking creative and knowledgeable content creators to contribute original articles and thought-provoking perspectives on urban planning, more commonly referred to today as land use planning. Founded by Gabe Bailer, PP, AICP, a professional land use planning consultant, NJ UrbanThinker was established as a platform to explore emerging trends, innovative ideas, and important issues shaping the built environment and the future of our communities.
The platform features original articles examining a wide range of planning topics, including “Midburbs: A New Definition of Suburbia,” “The Programming Language and Algorithms of SimCity,” and “Are ADUs New Jersey’s Affordable Housing Solution?” These articles reflect NJ UrbanThinker’s mission to encourage meaningful discussion, challenge conventional planning perspectives, and explore the evolving relationship between land use, development, technology, and community planning.
Over time, NJ UrbanThinker has expanded beyond its original blog format to provide media coverage of land use planning events, industry conferences, and professional discussions. The platform also publishes a biweekly newsletter highlighting land use planning news, policy developments, emerging trends, and issues affecting communities throughout New Jersey and beyond.
NJ UrbanThinker is looking to collaborate with writers, planners, researchers, and content creators who share a passion for land use planning and have unique perspectives, ideas, and insights to contribute. The goal is to continue building an engaging and informative platform that connects planning professionals, policymakers, and anyone interested in how our communities are planned, developed, and transformed.
This is a paid opportunity, with compensation provided for each original article or piece of content produced. Interested contributors are encouraged to submit a writing sample, along with a brief statement explaining their interest in contributing to NJ UrbanThinker and its growing platform of original articles, thought-provoking land use planning content, and industry news and event coverage.
