The Township of Brick is seeking a highly motivated, qualified Principal Planner. This is a supervisory position. This position reports to the Business Administrator. Responsibilities include managing of the Division of Land Use, handling administration of the Planning Board and Board of Adjustment, reviewing site plans and subdivisions, preparing planning studies and master plan elements, performing field inspections, conducting meetings with the general public and officials, training and supervising subordinates, and coordinating community development programs.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration or a related field. Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in municipal, county or state planning, at least three of which shall have been a supervisory role. Possession of a current, valid Professional Planner’s License and American Institute of Certified Planner’s credential. Knowledge of affordable housing, zoning, land use, and all aspects of the NJ Municipal Land Use Law is must.
Experience in the following is required: floodplain management, open space preservation, NJ Green Acres Grant Management, environmental regulations, budgeting, oversight of consultants and sub-contractors, project management, and management of a Community Development Block Grant Program. Excellent communication skills a must.
This is a full-time position with a salary range of $81,701-$176,445 commensurate with experience. The position includes a full benefits package including health benefits (medical, prescription, dental and vision), New Jersey pension plan, and paid time off.
