Councilwoman Nancy Facey-Blackwood exemplifies outstanding civic leadership through her relentless advocacy for sustainability, community development, and resilience in Red Bank. Since joining public service in 2017 as a member of the Environmental Commission and Green Team, Nancy has demonstrated unwavering dedication to advancing sustainable initiatives that have transformed Red Bank’s environmental policies and improved the quality of life for its residents.

Nancy’s leadership journey took off when she became chair of the Environmental Commission in 2018. Under her guidance, Red Bank achieved silver certification in the Sustainable Jersey program, demonstrating her ability to unite diverse stakeholders around shared environmental goals. Her commitment to innovation and community well-being earned her recognition as a Sustainable Hero in 2020 and led Red Bank to win the Sustainable Jersey Innovation Award in 2021 for the Volunteer Translator Program and Operation Blue Angel. In 2019, Nancy spearheaded the Red Bank Pedestrian Safety Demonstration Project, which improved safety and accessibility through tactical urbanism. The project earned the Monmouth County Planning Board Merit Award, showcasing Nancy’s ability to implement community-driven solutions.

Elected to the Borough Council in 2023, Nancy has championed sustainability policies, including updates to the Green Streets Policy and Complete Streets Ordinance. Her work on banning single-use plastics, promoting tree protection, and advancing bike infrastructure further highlights her commitment to environmental responsibility.
