DESCRIPTION:Download the FlyerMain Street Vineland Walking TourThe City of Vineland was established by Charles K. Landis to fulfill his dream of creating the “ideal community.”  A native of Philadelphia\, Landis imagined a city of factories\, stores\, schools\, churches\, and recreation hall surrounded by miles of farms\, orchards and vineyards. His dream took shape with the creation of Landis Avenue\, in August of 1861. The extra-wide\, tree lined street was reminiscent of the Champs-Elysee in Paris.” (www.mainstreetvineland.org) \nAs shopping habits and patterns changed over the years\, business owners along Landis Avenue faced declining revenues and community disinvestment. Landis Avenue suffered the same fate of many traditional main streets; fortunately\, however\, the City chose to revitalize the once faltering Landis Avenue. Vineland was designated as a Main Street Community in 2005 and has been hyper-focused on improving their traditional retail corridor ever since. Main Street Vineland focuses on four areas: organization\, promotion\, economic restructuring\, and design. \nTodd Noon\, Executive Director of the Vineland Downtown Improvement District – Main Street\, and Sandy Forosisky\, the Director of Redevelopment for the City of Vineland\, will narrate a two hour walking tour of Vineland’s Landis Avenue Main Street Area\, including stops at the new Landis Market\, Landis Theater\, and ending at Mori’s Restaurant. \nPlease join us after the tour for networking\, food\, and drinks with your fellow planners at Mori’s Restaurant. \nThe tour group will meet at the Main Street Vineland office\, 603 E.
