DESCRIPTION:This event will introduce new planning tools for assessing the impacts of development and disasters on local public finances. especially the local property tax. Attendees will learn about a new\, freely accessible online database of residential demographic multipliers for estimating the population and service needs associated with increments or decrements of housing development. They will also gain experience with a new\, free\, accessible\, online modeling tool for estimating the local fiscal impacts of disaster scenarios. \nBoth tools have been validated for New Jersey and can be used in all 50 U.S. states. Attendees will also learn the results of a public opinion survey regarding how to manage flood risks in New Jersey. \n\n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid event. DESCRIPTION:Environmental forensics is a multidisciplinary field with the goal of understanding how and when contamination occurred as well as who is responsible for the pollution. SUMMARY:Stormwater Management for Engineers (CM I TBD)
DESCRIPTION:Managing stormwater runoff from land development is becoming more complex every day. In light of New Jersey’s recently adopted statewide Stormwater Management Rules\, engineers\, reviewers\, developers and others will need to acquire both greater knowledge and new skills. This three-day course is designed to address these needs by presenting the most pertinent and up-to-date information on the scientific and regulatory aspects of stormwater management in New Jersey. \nThe course will cover the recently adopted NJDEP Stormwater Management Rules\, including those dealing with groundwater recharge\, TSS and nutrient removal\, and stormwater quantity control. A presentation of the new NJDEP BMP Manual\, Groundwater Recharge Spreadsheet (NJGRS) and other technical aspects of the new rules will also be included.
