DESCRIPTION:Middlesex County to Host “Resilient Communities” Seminar on April 28th\nPlease join the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders on April 28\, 2015 for a workshop exploring the resources and assistance programs available to strengthen your municipality’s capacity for resilience. Learn of practical measures and strategies to adapt to and withstand the severe weather and natural hazards of our changing future. \nSponsored by the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders through the Office of Emergency Management and Office of Planning\, theses sessions will take place at the Middlesex County Fire Academy\, 1001 Fire Academy Drive\, Sayreville\, NJ 08872. \nThis free seminar is an open invitation to all 565 municipalities and 21 counties to become familiar with the wealth of assistance available to help you create your municipal blueprint for building more adaptive and resilient communities in the face of more extreme climate and weather patterns in New Jersey. \nInteract with the professionals that are “working in the field” toward a more resilient Garden State. Participating speaker topics Include: New Jersey Future Coastal Vulnerability Program\, The Regional Plan Association Resilience program\, The Jacques Cousteau Institute “Getting to Resilience” toolkit\, National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System\, NJ Resiliency Network and the NJADAPT toolkit\, Princeton Hydro\, Resilience Consultants for Middlesex County\, Professionals perspectives on relevant FEMA and NJDEP programs\, and the New Jersey Association For Floodplain Management.
