Funding is NOW available for up to five (5) community-based organizations to work with artists through an art grant program. The grant program is led by the NJDEP Coastal Management Program and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and is part of a larger Risk Communication Campaign for coastal New Jersey. The campaign is funded through financial assistance from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Community-based organizations will work with artists as they develop art installations that engage communities with the goal of addressing the need to involve and inform the public about the coastal hazards impacts they will face and what actions they can take to reduce their risk. Organizations selected for funding will provide financial support to the artists (with the awarded funding) and will host a community event to showcase the art installations.
