New Hope Borough, Bucks County, PA, a vibrant internationally-known tourist destination, is seeking a dynamic municipal professional for the position of Borough Planner and Zoning Officer. This is a Full-Time Exempt position.
Successful candidate possesses land use planning credentials and a high degree of independent judgement, must be able to work effectively with elected officials, employees, general public and applicants. This position serves as staff to the Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board and works with the Code Official by reviewing building permits for compliance with the Zoning Code. He/She advises the Planning Commission on borough planning and zoning issues, coordinates the review of land development applications, meets with residents and developers to evaluate building projects for compliance with the Zoning and Land Development Codes, processes applications to the Zoning Hearing Board, and issues Notices of Violation for zoning offenses. Applicant must be willing to work evening hours, as required for performance of duties.
Thorough knowledge and at least two years’ experience with floodplain regulations, application of planning and zoning principles and the PA Municipal Planning Code is expected. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word, excellent communication and organizational skills is expected.
Salary is between $80,000 and $90,000 based on qualifications. Also, a generous benefits package is included with the position.
