Subregional Support Specialist – Part Time (SJTPO)

The South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO), the regional transportation planning agency for southern New Jersey, is seeking an experienced professional to manage SJTPO’s Subregional Planning Work Program, assist with semi-annual reporting functions related to the Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), and other similar transportation planning activities. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, management and oversight of the four county Subregional Planning Work Programs, including coordination with SJTPO member agencies, review of work products and reporting throughout the year providing technical assistance, as necessary. Under the supervision of the Program Manager of System Performance & Subregional Program, the Subregional Support Specialist will also manage and oversee the Task Order and contracts related to the Subregional Planning Work Programs. Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or a relevant alternative. Must have at least seven years of experience in transportation planning, experience, and familiarity with metropolitan planning and MPOs is strongly desirable. Previous experience in developing and implementing county work programs and related projects within the State of New Jersey also desirable. Candidate must have excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).

The part-time hourly rate is $20 to $35 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Part time employees are entitled to a one (1) hour paid lunch/meal period on those days that they work a full eight (8) hour shift. Part-time employees are also eligible to accrue up to forty (40) hours of sick time leave at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours worked.
