The North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), the regional transportation planning agency for northern New Jersey, is seeking an experienced professional to assist in developing and managing NJTPA’s Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and other capital programming activities. Specific tasks include prioritizing candidate surface transportation projects for funding in the TIP, project status reporting; review of project financial plans and TIP revisions; and liaison to local transportation agencies during capital program negotiations. Under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Capital Programming, the Senior Project Information Specialist will also oversee the development of the Study and Development program and annual TIP Obligation report, and facilitate subregional review of projects identified in Capital Project committee meeting agendas.
Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Administration or related field; and at least two years of experience in transportation planning or civil engineering. Candidates must have excellent written, verbal, and analytic skills. Candidates should demonstrate experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and ESRI ARCGis.
