The Cape May County Planning Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Planning Aide. The successful candidate will be responsible for the review of subdivisions and site plans, the collection and analysis of data, the maintenance of records, the preparation of reports on a variety of planning-related topics, providing presentations on findings to County officials and the general public, and other related duties.
Requirements: One year of experience in performing field and office tasks involved in preparing and conducting planning surveys/ reviews, collecting/compiling data, and related work is required. Satisfactory completion of thirty (30) semester hour credits in Planning or Public Administration course work at an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience. Preference will be given to those candidates with land use planning credentials including a degree in Planning or a related field, licensure as a NJ State Professional Planner, or membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners.
The appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in the State of New Jersey, and must be able to complete site inspections and field visits, as needed. This is a full time (35 hour/week) position with an excellent benefits package. Note: All interested individuals are encouraged to apply; job title can be adjusted upward if credentials warrant.
