Under the direction of the Director of Planning, the successful candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks and duties, including Development applications review and preparation of reports to both the Planning Board and Zoning Board; attendance at meetings of the Planning Board, Zoning Board, Township Committee and special meetings from time to time; preparation of draft ordinances and resolutions; ability to read maps and prepare maps utilizing the GIS software; ability to take the lead over major details of planning studies and surveys including but not limited to housing, redevelopment, land use analysis; ability to review, interpret and transpose statistical and other land use material into suitable forms for planning purposes.
Ability to prepare clear, technically sound, accurate and informative planning reports, studies and surveys containing findings, conclusions and recommendations and ability to speak with officials and groups to explain and discuss individual planning projects.
Preferred applicant would possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or related field with a minimum of six years of experience, or a Master’s Degree and a minimum of three years of experience. Must possess AICP and NJ PP licenses.
Knowledge of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, and experience in the Community Development Block Grant program is a plus.
