Planner (Ocean County)

Ocean County seeks a mid-level planner with 5 to 10 years of professional planning experience.

The Planning Department serves as staff to the Ocean County Planning Board. In addition to regular Planning Board responsibilities, the department is involved in a broad range of planning programs including Community and Economic Development, Long Range and Strategic Planning, Environmental Programs, and Transportation.

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university supplemented by 21 semester hour credits in professional planning subjects such as the principles of land use planning, history of city planning, planning project design, and planning law and administration. Competitive salary offered will be commensurate with experience. AICP/PP preferred but not required.

County offices are located in downtown Toms River. Work week is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Applicants are encouraged to review the Ocean County Planning website:
