IT Support Analyst (DVRPC)

This position is responsible for prompt end-user support on the agency’s hardware and software infrastructure, based on a Microsoft technology platform. Supports over 100 employees with initial technical support, accurate logging of issues and resolutions, and proper escalation of help desk tickets to the appropriate staff. Tasks include administration and internal support of the agency’s workstations, printers, videoconferencing, peripherals, and related equipment; license tracking; PC maintenance and upgrades; and configuring new workstations. Work is reviewed by the Manager, Office of Systems and Web Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain deployed workstations. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Proactively check functionality of network-attached devices (printers, scanners).
  • Configure and provision new workstations.
  • Monitor issues for trends across workstation models to proactively identify risks of hardware failure. Proactively maintain a workstation replacement priority list.
  • Maintain Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Maintain Verizon phone system.
  • Administer third-party cloud solutions, such as Google Workspace, Zoom, and Citrix.
  • Assist staff with Google Workspace Apps and cloud backups.
  • Manage VMs running on Citrix XenServer architecture.
  • Provide installation, support, and troubleshooting for various applications used by the commission.
  • Provide support for A/V equipment in the conference and project rooms.
  • Maintain and secure laptops, tablets, MiFi’s, cameras, and organize equipment reservations.
  • Provide support for troubleshooting Xerox Digital Press.
  • Stay up to date on latest security and technology trends.
  • Minimal lifting (10 lbs.) and bending down to check or connect cables.
  • Emergency IT-related situations may require flexibility on working weekends, holidays or off-hours until the agency is again operational.
