Under direction of Director of Community Development or other supervisory agent, assist the Township Planner in formulating, implementing, modifying and improving current and long range planning projects; Assist in the administration of land use regulations. Prepares written reports for Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Redevelopment Agency on proposed developments and redevelopment plans. Performs related work as required.
Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited College or University with a Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field; Master’s degree or working towards a Master’s degree preferred. Experience with municipal planning and land use administration a plus. Working towards New Jersey Professional Planner License with strong organizational and communication skills as well as some knowledge of NJ Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL), NJ Local Redevelopment and Housing Law (LRHL), zoning principles and practices, development application procedures, Master Plan updates, neighborhood planning studies, zoning ordinance development and update procedures as well as COAH rules and regulations and preparation of maps, graphs and charts. Geographical Information Systems (GIS) experience a plus. Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing.
