Assistant Planning Director (Warren County Planning Department)

There is one full-time provisional Assistant Planning Director position available in the Warren County Planning Department, Belvidere, NJ.

The Assistant Planning Director will oversee and conduct the County Planning Board’s land development review process, coordinate with the Highlands Council and staff in the development of the Highlands Sustainable Economic Development Plan and county plan conformance activities. Other departmental activities will include the development of the Planning Department’s web page, reviewing data resulting from the 2020 US Census, planning for solid waste management and recycling, transportation, and providing staff assistance to the Warren Heritage Scenic Byway Committee and the County’s Economic Development Committee.  The Department also assists the County’s Department of Land Preservation in its open space and trail planning activities.     

The selected candidate will have experience in reviewing subdivisions and site plans and have a thorough understanding of New Jersey’s County Planning Act and Municipal Land Use Law.
