Under direction, the successful candidate will perform a variety of municipal professional planning activities including site plan and subdivision review, technical writing, data collection, research, field studies and preparation of maps, graphs and charts. The position would require working on implementing programs such as open space preservation, master plan work, and providing GIS support to other Township Departments, when required. Must be able to communicate well with the public and attend evening meetings.
At a minimum, the applicant should have a Bachelor’s Degree with 21 credits in planning subjects, one to two years of relevant planning experience, and possession of a Planner in Training Certification, New Jersey Professional Planners License or the ability to obtain the same within one year. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Geographic Information System (GIS) is Strongly preferred. Possession of a Master’s degree in Planning from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the experience requirement. Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted.
Salary range of $40K-$45K DOE/Q.
