The South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO), the regional transportation planning agency covering Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem Counties, is seeking a technically oriented entry-level professional. The position will conduct project-oriented planning activities to support the implementation of transportation projects in the SJTPO region. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, research and analysis related to local project development and selection, capital programming development, transportation safety and congestion relief planning, collaboration with area planners and engineers, and other related tasks. The position will report to the Program Manager – Capital Programming & Project Development. Field work and travel required. The position is oriented towards a technically skilled individual; minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, or a relevant alternative. Master’s degree and/or relevant experience is strongly desired. Candidate must have excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
The salary range is $46,000 to $52,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The SJTPO offers a full benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, optional deferred compensation plans, paid time off, tuition assistance, and membership in the New Jersey State Pension System.
