Michèle is the Principal of the Nishuane Group LLC, a planning consulting firm dedicated to planning better communities. She has over 15 years of professional experience in housing and community development, redevelopment, and land use planning.
Michèle is an Instructor of urban planning classes at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. She is also the Chairperson of the Planning Development Institute [PDI] at Rutgers and a Planning Board Commissioner. She has designed innovative land use protocols for municipal clients and is the author of numerous neighborhood plans, redevelopment plans and area investigations. Michèle has served as a Professional Planner to Planning and Zoning Board of Adjustments and managed professional teams working on long and short-term Planning projects.
Michèle understands the importance of civic and community engagement and includes this component as an integral part of the planning process when developing documents. She is skilled at facilitating visioning exercises and focusing efforts to develop consensus on a vision or plan for a community. Michèle is an active participant in the national and local chapters of the American Planning Association.
Michèle earned a Masters degree in City and Regional Planning from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning & Public Policy at Rutgers University.
