Eric Snyder is the Planning Director for Sussex County. He has been a licensed planner since 1977 and is a charter member of AICP. After spending three years in the service, Eric served municipal and county government as an employee and a consultant since 1973, notably working for the USDA Forest Service as a Forestry Aid in Idaho.
In addition to his full-time capacity with Sussex County, Eric is the Principal of Eric K. Snyder & Associates, Inc, a planning consulting firm he established in 1985, which he ran full time for 19 years, serving both private and public clients. Eric is currently the Northwest Area Representative of the APA-NJ and a member of the Legislative, Housing, and State and Regional Planning Committees.
Eric received a B.S. from Cornell University in Natural Resources and a Masters of City and Regional Planning from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. He is the Past President and active member of the NJ County Planners Association and an active Rotarian.
