As a part of APA-NJ’s two-year Strategic Plan, the Legislative Committee has undertaken the production of New Jersey specific policy guides.
These policy guides, once adopted, will serve as a roadmap for the Chapter in advancing legislative priorities by applying advocacy and educational outreach methods throughout the State.
APA-NJ charged each respective topical committee (Transportation, Housing, Redevelopment, Sustainability, Urban Design, State and Regional Planning) with the task of developing a policy guide with respect to its specific focus.
Each committee prepares a policy guide, which is then reviewed by both the Legislative and Executive Committee, and thereafter sent to the membership in draft form for a comment period of a minimum of 30 days. Upon receiving feedback, the compilation is sent to the topical committee to make any adjustments (if necessary) and then brought to a vote by the Executive Committee for adoption or rejection.
