YPG

The New Jersey Young Planners Group (NJYPG) committee of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA-NJ). NJYPG focuses on helping young professional planners and students identify ways to get more involved in the profession both in leadership roles at the national and state level, provide networking and professional development opportunities and discuss issues of importance to them.

Membership
NJYPG is open and free to professional planners and students between the ages of 21 to 35. Its members represent a wide array of young planner professionals and students from diverse backgrounds. Students and young professionals are encouraged to join APA-NJ for further enhanced benefits as well.

Celebrate History and Preservation

Sam Surtees, previous Chair of Bordentown’s Shade Tree Commission, Mike Hunninghake founding Chair of the Bordentown City Environmental Commission and Bill Collom, Mayor of Bordentown (2001-2009) will narrate a two-hour walking tour of Bordentown highlighting the history of the community through the years with stops at local historical spots as well as a tour of recently preserved properties along the Delaware and Blacks Creek. After the tour we will have lunch and drinks at a local restaurant.

A Waterfall in Paterson?

Richard Polton will lead a tour of the historic Great Falls area and the proposed National Park. Placed on the national registry in 1970, Great Falls is a 118-acre industrial historic site located in Paterson, New Jersey. Located just 12 miles west of New York City, it is home to the largest and best example of early manufacturing mills in the United States.
