Planning & Development Director (City of Atlantic City)

CITY OF ATLANTIC CITY, Atlantic County – Population of roughly 40,000 permanent residents with 30 million visitors per year, $230 million projected budget, 1,000 FT Employees, 17 square miles. City of Atlantic is operates under the Mayor-Council (Faulkner Act) form of government.
The Planning and Development Director shall oversee the City’s Planning, Zoning and Community Development department, including but not limited to 1) preparation, review, enforcement and maintenance of the Master Plan, 2) Staff assistance to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment, 3) Supervision and coordination of community conservation, rehabilitation and renewal programs, 4) Furtherance of housing and economic development, 5) Preparation and submission of related state and federal grant applications and coordination of grant funds and projects.

A BA/BS degree is required, must be a NJ Professional Planner, AICP a plus. Minimum five (5) years of government experience, municipal government experience is preferred. Since this is a Department Director position, supervisory and management experience is required also.
