Redevelopment is in the Details (CM I 1.5)

October 8, 2010 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

In today’s economic times, it is vital for communities to focus on redeveloping sites that can add value, fit into the community, and can be implemented.  The speakers will present a variety of project types that address the following key details of a successful redevelopment project.

Design for Livability – create livable, walkable projects within the context of neighborhoods.  Fitting the Form to the Context – understand the site history and context.  Social and Economic Impact – integrate land use and activities to provide a sustainable long-term solution.  Property Development – develop public and private relationships.  Streets and Public Places – interconnect the public places to provide a network for the community.  Public Participation – develop the project champions early in the process.  Achieve a Vision – provide a strategy that matches the vision.

This webcast will be hosted by the Wisconsin Chapter.
