Newark Architectural Walking Tour: A Primer for Planners (CM I 2.0)

October 15, 2010 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$5.00

*Planner Happy Hour to Follow*

Join Michele Alonso, Acting Historic Preservation Officer and Planner for the City of Newark, and Ulana Zakalak, President of Zakalak Restoration Arts, a historic preservation specialist who has been working in Newark for 25 years, as we use downtown Newark’s rich building vocabulary as a primer for historic commercial architecture. Learn about different architectural styles and buildings from Victorian era to today. We will also discuss the effects of Newark’s lack of a sign ordinance until last year, and the tools the city has found effective in encouraging signage that is architecturally compatible with the buildings to which they are attached.

The fee is $5, payable by check to APA-NJ or cash the day of the event.

The deadline to register is October 8th.
