Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator to report to the Manager of University Planning and Development. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks including developing technical support and analysis on physical planning initiatives for various sectors of the university.
The Planning and Development Director shall oversee the City’s Planning, Zoning and Community Development department, including but not limited to 1) preparation, review, enforcement and maintenance of the Master Plan, 2) Staff assistance to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment, 3) Supervision and coordination of community conservation, rehabilitation and renewal programs, 4) Furtherance of housing and economic development, 5) Preparation and submission of related state and federal grant applications and coordination of grant funds and projects.
Under the direction of the Department of Agriculture, State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC) supervisory staff, the Regional FPP Coordinator will manage and coordinate farmland preservation initiatives, outreach and acquisition projects through multiple funding programs and multiple partners including counties, municipalities, nonprofit entities and landowners.
Proficient ability in GIS-based mapping and analysis for illustrative and analytic purposes is preferred. Job responsibilities include: conduct site visits to photo-document properties and neighborhoods, develop profiles of current and completed projects, research and writing (legal documents, environmental constraints, historical designations, etc.) for property development, and examine development applications to prepare reports for client land use boards. Administrative tasks including organization of documents for presentations, printing, filing, binding. Assist and support project managers or firm’s principals. Additional tasks that would leverage the unique skills or interests of selected candidate.
The Passaic County Department of Planning and Economic Development is looking to fill a summer internship position beginning in May/June and running through August 2017. The intern will provide assistance on a wide range of transportation and land use projects under direction from the Director and Assistant Director as well as other planning staff in their capacity as project managers.
Duties include helping maintain and contribute to NJ Urbanthinker’s Social Media outlets of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Position entails writing original material about planning news in New Jersey.
The Senior Associate position requires direct New Jersey experience in structuring complex affordable and mixed-income housing projects and in securing the full range of public and private financing that is necessary to bring the firm’s diverse affordable housing plans and projects to fruition, including preservation, new construction, senior, supportive and family projects.
